Hello everyone!

Today, August 28th, is Polish Aviation Day. It's also a difficult day, as it's the first anniversary of the tragic death of Lieutenant Colonel Maciej SLAB, a Krakow native.

And I think that's the most common sentiment in recent conversations: how difficult it is for all of us to celebrate today.

However, time slowly heals wounds, and we all have to move on. Our air force is undergoing a profound transformation, with the F-35, FA-50, AH-64, AW-101, and AW149 being deployed. A modern air base is being built in Świdwin, which is close to our hearts, and others are undergoing modernization. Further purchases, including MRTs and A400s, are on the horizon.

We sincerely wish all those serving in the Air Force success in training and the implementation of new equipment, pilots as many landings as takeoffs, technicians 100% equipment efficiency, and above all, that we never have to deploy you to combat.

We also extend our best wishes to all those involved in civil aviation, as well as to all enthusiasts, spotters and fans.

On the anniversary of the SLAB disaster, we finally present you with some specific details regarding the monument that we decided to finance with the money collected from the T-shirt donations.

We'll answer just one frequently asked question: will the T-shirts be back on sale? The fundraising goal has been reached, and if the amount raised covers all costs associated with erecting the monument, we don't anticipate a return. However, if unforeseen or underestimated expenses arise during the construction process, we will launch the sale of a very specific number of T-shirts. However, this won't happen before next year.

Most importantly, in early August, the Commander of the 31st Tactical Air Base, Col. Łukasz Gradziński, submitted a motion to the Chairman of the Poznań City Council, Mr. Grzegorz Ganowicz, requesting the erection of the monument. The monument is to be placed at the newly constructed roundabout connecting Silniki and Krzesiny Streets in Poznań, near the 31st Tactical Air Base. This is an optimal location because, as we wanted, it would be located in a public place, near the unit, accessible to all. As of today, the application has been accepted and is being processed. The procedure is quite complex and could take up to a year, culminating in a vote by the City Council. We hope it will go through without any major problems, and we will be able to gather at the monument on the second anniversary of the disaster.
